Live At Hollywood High
Label: UMe/Elvis Costello
This 1978 concert set catches Elvis Costello and the Attractions at a time when they were poised to break America open the way Blondie had. Much of the material catches the Attractions at their herky-jerky New Wave best, but the concert also shows Costello and the band already experimenting and reworking material. The piano-only "Accidents Will Happen" opens the set, while "Watching the Detectives" gets stretched into nervous reggae. A couple of tunes here were originally put on a 7-inch single and inserted into selected editions of Armed Forces.
