Could Kanye West ever make a bad album? It's a question many will ponder when they're confronted with the acid house shocks, drill rap stabs and Jamaican toasts of Yeezus. "I Am A God" pulses over distorted synthesizer effects, and "New Slaves" shakes from electro keyboard stabs. "Black Skinhead" is inflected by screams and totemic, chest-pumping drums. Then, suddenly, West transitions from the usual ego-tripping into a murky aria on the potential rewards of a long-term relationship. He might strain to appreciate the pleasures of monogamy on "Bound 2." But give him credit for trying.
