Although American, Scott Walker is a major cult figure in the U.K., influencing everyone from Davie Bowie and Bryan Ferry to Pulp and Richard Hawley. The Drift picks up where his even darker, more fragmented 1995 LP Tilt left off. This uncompromising, often flat-out terrifying work isn't going to win Walker any chart placements, but it should give old fans some fresh night terrors to wake from. We're not joking. The Daffy Duck voice in "The Escape" alone could induce nightmares.
