Amos changes it up on the first single from her upcoming 2007 release, and it's a welcome breath of big, bad, gutsy fresh air. She's borrowing a page from early '90s PJ Harvey (think primal rage, only not quite so primal) and channeling it through southern rock. In the process, her piano becomes a rhythm instrument while her bravado -- bragging about being a MILF, for instance -- carries the tune instead. Country-fried Tori? It works surprisingly well, but you've got to hear it to believe it.
